To "server" a CDE session? You mean to login and use the CDE environment from your Mac?

To do that, open up X11 and using an Xterm (not the apple terminal) type ssh -CX username@host.

The HP-UX box should forward the GUI to your local X11 setup.

At least thats the way I use X on the Sun machines from my mac.
