Mactel Computers
Please, please, PLEASE, tell me this is not going to be a common
phrase. "Wintel" is a phrase used to describe the all encompassing
array of generic Windows / Intel combinations made by many
manufacturers including home built boxes. Macs are not generic.
They are made only by Apple (praying to GOD it stays that way).
"Intel Based Mac" or "386 Mac" would be just fine if a distinction
is needed, but remember that eventually All Macs will be intel
based and we will be back to the good old standard of "A Mac is a
Mac". Regardless of how painless the switch to Intel based Macs
may be, the phrase "Mactel" just makes me feel... dirty.
The best name I've read sofar: "Mintelac" (intel inside Mac). Sounds
exotic!
