Registering at 7:30 AM this morning, I was also told this - a bit of a
bugger though I did see last year's keynote from a really good
position. That said, the same lady who said I was going to have to sit
in overflow said Students weren't getting t-shirts as well. (Thank
God, she was wrong, but I would trade the t-shirt and sit in overflow
to get an iPhone).
Personally I'm not sure how well mixing the student events opposite
other events (eg. the student talk is opposite the Developer Tools
State of the Union) is going to play out - if the Developer Tools
State of the Union will be similar to last year it's not a big loss
for myself but I remember the State of the Union talks being a great
intro/covering of what would be covered for all of WWDC.

Anyone else slightly irked at students being banned from the Keynote
this year? This will be my third consecutive year at WWDC. For the
past two years, I've always lined up ridiculously early with my
fellow attendees. This year, I was planning on lining up and
sitting with two former students I've met in previous years.
Unfortunately, their companies paid for them to come out as regular
attendees. They're allowed into the Keynote -- I'm not.
