Whoa. That's a huge change. Is this documented anywhere?
So I guess we need to switch to an 'app' type client. What kinds of
behavioral changes can I expect (in Tiger and Leopard) from
switching from 'server' to 'app' ?

Sync clients of type server will no longer pull iCal subscribed
calendars events, CALDav calendars, nor Birthday calendars. The
idea being these are all computable from another source and servers
are transfer agents between computers. Apps and devices will still
pull these records.

What kinds of changes were made to Sync Services in Leopard in
regards to 'server' type sync clients? I ask because I just
noticed (actually, some customers just noticed) that in Leopard
our software is no longer able to sync the Address Book "Birthday"
calendar. The AB Calendar now shows up as a "subscribed" calendar
in iCal, and I'm wondering if there was some sort of optimization
such that sync clients of type 'server' are no longer told about
subscribed calendars.
Thanks
