As secretary of the IETF AtomPub working group, I can confidently state
that there is absolutely nothing preventing Jake (or anybody else who
cares to) from getting involved [1] -- if not on the Atom mailing list,
then on one or more of the numereous RSS mailing lists.

Meanwhile, while it is not for me to call, it seems to me that we are
getting way off topic for this mailing list.
