Hello,
I'm brand-new to the group and I have a few questions. First, though,
let me say how excited and pleased I am that iTunes now supports
podcasting in version 4.9. As a provider of paid podcasting services,
I'm absolutely thrilled by this. It's great for my customers! You have my
heartfelt thanks!
Is anyone aware of a way to redirect the URL of the audio file through
a tracking script - that won't make the file unavailable to iTunes users?
We want to provide real-time statistics on how many times - per day
and per month - every podcast show is downloaded or played.
Here's an example of an RSS <enclosure> that will download via iTunes:
<enclosure url="http://dansrokahumornetwork.podblaze.com/bb23.2.mp3"
length="1321735" type="audio/mpeg" />
Here's the same example with tracking:
<enclosure url="http://dansrokahumornetwork.podblaze.com/load.php?f=bb23.2.mp3"
length="1321735" type="audio/mpeg" />
We tested a feed that had some of each type. The <enclosure>s without
the redirect
all work perfectly; the ones with the redirect don't work.
Thanks in advance,
Steve Humphrey
