I am under the impression -- and please correct me if I'm wrong here
-- that iTunes does not support critical HTTP features like ETag
headers, Last-Modified/If-Modified-Since headers, or gzip compression.

Is this correct?  And if so, does Apple plan on adding support for
these features in a future iTunes release?
