If the latter, where can I find the list?

I found a list here. http://www.jakeludington.com/project_studio/ 20050704_itunes_custom_rss_tags_category.html

Wow, that's great. Although it would be probably be more useful it it were in the specification, instead of, you know, some random guy's blog.

Yes indeed. That's one possibility.

I would say even better outside of the specification itself. So it will be easier to update and not tied to the rest of the language.

Some of the possible choices:

* Category specification for iTunes and others.
Problem: I have the feeling that people will define their own category at a point if not already done.

* A simple language to define categories locally (somehow already done)
<itunes:category text="Technology">
<itunes:category text="Computers" />
<itunes:category text="News" />
</itunes:category>

* Something which gives the possibility to create a local category file (RDF or XML) and to call it with an URI to load the categories.

In this document, nothing is said http://phobos.apple.com/static/iTunesRSS.html Last Modified: 2005-07-07

In this one, (URI broken, then google), the list was given.
