Re: iTunes podcasting tags

Hi Mark,

I'm a little confused by your question.

He means the difference between <itunes:link rel="image" href="..."/>, <itunes:image href="..."/>, <itunes:image>...</itunes:image>, and whatever other variations people dreamed up while both your spec and your app were changing every day in contradictory ways.

It's a valid question, and probably the #1 point of confusion for podcasters.

I completely agree its a valid question, I'm just saying *I* don't understand it. :-)

Your answer helps some, thanks.

  The itunes:image tag is only
defined for RSS (the use in Atom is unsupported at this time).

And yet despite being unsupported and undocumented, embedding in Atom works just fine (as long as you don't care about being listed in the podcasting directory, grr).

I appreciate that it can be done (sorta), but as you can see we're having enough trouble getting the *RSS* part documented. :-)

Just to be 100% clear on the question, you are asking:

"What is the proper syntax for the "image" tag in iTunes RSS?"

That question I will look into and try to get an answer. It is good to know that is the #1 question.
