OD based local admin accounts?

We are in a 1:1 environment (1400 laptops) and looking at InstaDMG for imaging our laptops and desktop this summer as we move to 10.5. One of the considerations is how to handle the local admin account that we had normally created on our image.

So I have 2 questions.

1. Are folks using a OD based admin account (mobile) as the local admin account which would allow for more control in changing passwords, etc. and not having to have the account on the image itself?

2. How are folks adding accounts (local or OD based admins) to the InstaDMG process?
