I've been trying to create a .pkg for Adobe Reader on Leopard for
unattended installations, but haven't been successful. I initially used
PackageMaker to manually select the various application/library components,
but the installed Reader would complain and prompt for admin privileges to
repair the installation when first run. This isn't acceptable for mass
installation. (I'm using the InstaDMG workflow.)
I then tried PackageMaker's --watch mechanism to build the package, but the
installed Reader from that package wouldn't even launch. I had pruned the
package of various log files and other cruft that fsevents had picked up so
it is possible I pruned too much or too little.
Has anyone created a package for Adobe Reader that doesn't require admin
intervention? (beyond 'installer') How was it accomplished? Which
components were included with the package?
Ryan
