Since i'm new to this, i don't know where to start looking...
Did you run './configure' in the 'snort' directory? I built 1.8.2 with
no problems (except for the not-infrequently-encountered "unused
multiple definitions" squawking that often accompanies the building of
unixy stuff on darwin).
BTW, I copied config.* from /usr/libexec to the 'snort' directory before
running './configure', since otherwise, it didn't know darwin from cpm.
