I'm working on an FLTK app that so far, has been ported and works
quite nicely on OS X.

I'm trying it on 10.3.5.
I pressed Start Tunnel and it said it was creating an encrypted
connection. Then the application went away. Nothing showing in the
dock; nothing showing in ps.
That's what happens when I launch it from the Finder.
When I try launching it from the dock I get nothing. The icon bounces
once and that's it. I don't see the phenomenon of two apps running.
