Try the grab application in /Applications/Utilities. I use the
Snapndrag application (shareware). There are also free and
shareware applications that will capture sequences of screens and
video. Check the apple mac os x downloads page.
This is not what I want to do! <grin>
When I say capture the screen, I mean something like clear the
screen and then draw the screen. ( launch vi and see, it clears the
terminal window that it is launched from and then draws the editor,
etc
This can be done using a library like ncurses. Here is the source of
the standard clear program (which clears the terminal screen) for
example:
