The inline mess when linking against glib appears to be due to a
change in how gcc handles inline and how the glib headers handle the
various ways inline behaves. There's been a glib bugzilla about it for
two years, feel free to help them solve it and prod them to release a
solution: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=315437
