I'm porting an application from 32 to 64-bit and am having trouble with the RPC portion of it. Initially I had problems even in 32-bit on Leopard because of permissions, but thanks to Dave Zarzycki I was able to get past this. (See the post in this mailing list about setting SockPathMode in System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.portmap.plist.)
The same code that now runs fine in 32-bit on Leopard fails when compiled for x86_64. When svc_register() is called, it sits for one minute and then fails with "Bad file descriptor". Calling pmap_set() does the same thing.
Any clues as to what might be going on?
Much thanks,
Doug
