Basic I/O with OSX and USB?

Hi,

I would like to be able to do some basic (parallel) input and output with USB in Mac OSX to be able to communicate with TTL circuits and D/A & A/D circuits etc. How do I get started? And where I'll find more info?

There seems to be many USB IO Interface Boards available (http://www.beyondlogic.org/usb/usbhard.htm) like USB I2C/IO Interface Board by DeVaSys (http://www.devasys.com/usbi2cio.htm). Do they work with Mac and Mac OSX? Is there sample code available for OSX?
