You are right, today the colleague using that PowerBook told me that it did not help to replug the devices and that he in fact always reboots the machine.



Its not clear what went wrong. I might have a better idea if I had a bus probe, and hub verbose log*. That would also show me where the fatal hub error happened. If I could work out what the error was, it may not do you any good as there is no delivery method for any updates to OS 9 these days.

I will notify the list as soon as I have a couple of hub verbose logs online (will take a couple of days). Even if there is no update for Mac OS 9 possible, maybe we can find some workaround (I assume that we are not the only ones using external keyboards and mice and other people do not seem to have that problem - so it must be related to our special configuration in some way).
