USB Port as Virtual COM Port

I want to expose the USB Port as a Virtual COM Port (serial port). My
objective is to write a driver that exposes the USB Port as a COM port
so that the applications can access the device using serial I/O APIs.
How to do this? Any idea/document/sample source code will be much
useful.
