Thanks for the link. From what I understand, this requires Macintosh
Manager. It allows to disable mounting of removable media (not
sure if it allows to control the type of device, e.g. USB memory
not allowed but a CD-ROM can be mounted).

I looked at the requirements of Macintosh Manager 2.2.2, its says:

  Mac OS 8.1 - 9.x - client
  Mac OS X Server 10.2 or higher

So I guess this would not help with Mac OS X client machines or if
no Mac OS X Server is running in the network ? I will have a closer
look at Macintosh Manager and try to find out if it can help.
