On my G4 sawtooth the internal CD "drawer" opens at startup. OS 10.3.9
It doesn't happen if there are only two USB devices connected without an intermediate hub. Now that I need that USB scanner hubless operation is not practical and I have been living with the auto-opening drawer.
I have been told that it only happens with some hubs but I haven't found a hub that doesn't cause it.
Something like MacsBug, operational at startup, to log USB activities would be nice but I ain't there yet.
