RE: Need Help Spoofing a Windows USB Keyboard



Your Mac mini is a USB host, not a peripheral like the keyboard you want
to emulate. You can't just connect the Mac to your KVM. USB just doesn't
work like that; you can only have one host. Not to mention the
electrical differences, or the fact that the Mac only implements a host
USB stack.

You need some special hardware, USB or otherwise, that will act as a
peripheral to both hosts. Plus software running on your Mac that
implements a USB peripheral stack and communicates with the interface
hardware.

The USB->RS232->keyboard solution you say you've found is probably the
easiest solution possible. Assuming it a) works and b) does what you
need, of course.
