IOUSBHIDDriver, Tiger vs Panther

I have a IOUSBHIDDriver-based mouse driver.  Apparently the IOUSBHIDDriver
class changed such that a driver built on Panther will not work on Tiger and
vice-versa (I get the "not compatible with its superclass" error when trying
to load).  My question is, am I stuck with 2 different drivers or is there a
way to build a driver that will be compatible on both?
