Re: How to talk to a composite/HID USB device

Correct. Mutually exclusive. Their software needs access to the device, but the HID Driver will open the device and they won't be able to open it. If the HID driver doesn't match to the device, you won't be able to use the HID Mgr to talk to it... You need to choose. With their driver in place, you can still use the IOUSBInterfaceInterface calls to talk to the device, as long as their driver/app isn't running. So you could send/rcv USB requests.

Good luck,

1. I remove the Kext and use the device as an HID device but
loose the software
2. I leave the kext, and have to deal with using the device
with default drives and loose HID

correct?
