Currently, the asynchronous portions of the HID Manager are only setup to function in conjunction with a CFRunLoop.

And if you're wondering, specifying the callback function here doesn't
change anything. (This was an attempt to see whether the reason a buffer
and size were provided was that the data would magically be filled in for
me.)
