RE: USB Prober & USB logger in Mac OS X (10.3.7)

Hi,
I'm running into exactly the same problem (but on 10.4.3) and was
wondering if there was a solution to this thread?

I'm on a 10.4.3 system though and have installed the
IOUSBFamily-226.4.3-log package as recommended by the "USB Debug Kits
Downloads" page.

I've verified/set permissions (755) and owner (root:wheel) recursively
on /System/Library/Extensions/KLog.kext and IOUSBFamily.kext

On clicking the 'Start' button in
/Developer/Applications/Utilities/USB Prober, I get the error:
LogUser: [ERR] Could not set notification port (10000003)

Are there any other things I might need to do to get my logging going?

Does my kext need to enable anything in particular (other than
#defining DEBUG_LEVEL before #including IOKit/usb/IOUSBLog.h and
calling USBLog)?

(Note that I'm not writing a USB driver per se, but simply want to
take advantage of the USB logging mechanism instead of using IOLog()
in an existing kext that already loads and runs.)

Thanks in advance,
 Rob.
