RE: need desperate help!!

Barry,

While we're at it, hub devices don't let me open them (since I can't modify
them anyhow and status reads run through the control pipe, all is fine)
which means that if I need to read the hub descriptor it will only work as a
standard request on the control pipe, which according to the docs is only
possible when the device is open, which means I can't read hub descriptors.
Well we both know that one can, namely with a closed device, contrary to the
docs (and no, I really like this feature since it's the only way to get a
hub descriptor from what I can tell). I understand that you should have a
device open for writes (i.e. set config/interface and the like) but it makes
perfect sense for it to be closed for ROM reads, right. So I'm assuming this
is simply not spelled out in the documentation?

Thanks,
Vincenzo

You might want to take a look at the documentation for IOUSBLib to
familiarise yourself with which functions that are available.
IOUSBLib.h also lists them. If you have the device open,
DeviceRequeest is the API to do device requests. If you have the
interface open, ControlRequest is the way to do control requests.
