We use a kernel-level kext and a USB-to-Ethernet shim to drive a USB device which connects the Mac to a DSL line. When the user opens his Network Control Panel, the Network Port Configuration initially appears something like: Ethernet Adaptor (en2) This confuses the user. The device is a only a "virtual" ethernet adaptor which the user just plugged into the USB port. Is there any way to change the initial name of the configuration in the Network Control Panel? thanks Harland Harrison _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
