Update on darwin USB HID drivers with Aiptek 8000U tablet

Hello all,

an update on the front of the battle with Aiptek 8000U on Darwin.

I've installed logged versions of USB drivers and observed the following:

After computer boots up with the tabled connected, I can see that every movement of the pen on the tablet produces a USB transaction. Nothing interesting.

Interesting stuff starts when I disconnect tablet and re-connect it. I can see no USB transactions initiated by the pen movements anymore, BUT I can see transaction coming through when I press on the tablet with the pen's tip or press one of the buttons pen has! If would seem that hotswap causes USB driver to lose part of the functionality (pen movement tracking).

Even more importantly, it looks that problem may not just be Aiptek devices-specific, because it comes from the native Darwin drivers. There might be other devices out there that would get crippled after hotswap.

Now, this is just an attempt to troubleshoot and get some information by somebody (me) barely familiar with specifics of USB and USB HID in particular. If there is someone who has more intimate understanding please come out and let's try to solve this problem!

Thanks,
Maksim.
