How to suppress "Improper Device Removal" dialog

Hello dear USB developers ,

I have a not so obvious question. My software would like to suppress the kernel
popup dialog "Improper Device Removal". I know that iTunes figured out a way
to do that, but I can't seem to find any information how to do it. I searched through
all the mailing lists, usenet, and google, and didn't find anything concrete.
My question is, has anyone figured out a good way to do it?

I would expect that Apple would provide a documented override callback or a way
to turn it off, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Please help? :-)
