You should acquire one of the Developer Transition Kits and try your
device. I think it will be representative of the performance you can
expect from machines with Intel processors.

Our device relies on a consistent high bandwidth, and we've had to
do some compromises because of limitations on the host side. It
currently only runs on powerbooks and mac minis because they exhibit
the best USB performance.
I was hoping that with the move to Intel, perhaps things sped up a
bit more. At least if it is known that there will be a new USB Host
Controller, that would be nice.
