Re: dev tools?

Why would you buy anything? The standard tools that come with the system
work fine.

My thinking was there were some USB tools exclusive to a dev package. Is
this not the case?

No. Except of course for pre-release software

My interest is mainly CDC ACM serial emulation, or proprietary virtual com.
The target is a Mac mini. My requirement is a CDC driver that works with
Mac, Linux, and Win32. So far I have it running on Win32.

The plan was to develop on the Mac mini is well. Is this a reasonable
route?

Faster is always better, but the mini should work. However, if you are writing a Kernel Extension for your driver (depends on what you want to do) a second machine for debugging is very, very handy. (It does not have to be a Mac, could be a Linux machine)
