It depends what computer you are using. On the Mac Mini or Powerbooks you can achieve up to 30MB/sec without bit stuffing. To be on the safe side you need to take bit stuffing into consideration which yields somewhere around 26Mb/sec I think.

On the G5 desktops it's more like 26MB/sec or so without bit stuffing.
