Lifespan of Configuration Descriptor

What is the lifespan of the descriptor data returned by IOUSBDeviceInterface.GetConfigurationDescriptorPtr()?

I'm assuming that the the data is in a cache owned by IOUSBLib, but I'd like to determine if I can have objects with pointers into the descriptors without caching a local copy.

I'm assuming that the data will be valid as long as the device is connected, but what if the device is unplugged while I have a reference to an IOUSBInterfaceInterface on the device, but not the device itself?

I can make a local copy if needed, but if IOUSBLib is going to retain the data for me, I can save a lot of unnecessary work and have cleaner code.
