Help with resetting USB

I am a programmer, but not on the Mac, and not on the device driver level.

What I am looking for is a way to reset the USB bus/port, guessing it would be best via an xcode application, but I am comfortable with the unix underpinnings so a command line shell script would do as well.

I have a PS/2->USB converter that I use to plug my mac into a KVM. Problem is it goes retarded every once in a while and I have to unplug/replug to get it working again.

I still have limited mouse functionality when it happens, so I want to be able to just launch and application that will reset the USB bus.

Not looking for a primer in xcode or anything, just a function call/ necessary libraries to do what i want.

Any ideas?
