It sounds like you need to do a build of "installhdrs". By default that builds them to a subdirectory of /tmp and you can ditto them to the root, or you can play around with a symbol (DSTROOT) I think to compile them directly to the root.

I think Nano posted the magic formula quite recently. Something like:

xcodebuild installhdrs DSTROOT=/

(As root of course.)
