USB HID and Force Feedback

Dear list,

I just subscribed to this list because I want to experiment with the Force Feedback API. I did my homework, an interesting thread on HID output in March 2003, a reference to a USB HID & Force Feedback Kitchen by Apple.

These all suggest it should be possible to activate the "shakers" on eg. the Logitech Rumblepad. Could someone point me to some examples on how to use the Force Feedback API. I feel a bit in the dark, it would save time if I have something to work from.

My application in in the academic field, we will be using the Logitech RumblePad for a course on Interactive Technology Design, at the Delft University of Technology.
