Re: building IOUSBFamily-215.4.4 (from Mac OS X 10.3.8)

As an aside, why aren't the headers in the Kernel.framwork updated when I
update my machine to 10.3.8?

The Software Updates are a "user" update, not a developer update. Hence, NO headers are updated.

Alternatively, why does the USB family include
framework headers (#include <IOKit/usb/IOUSBInterface.h> when it contains
the required headers, and could include them using #include
"IOUSBInterface.h"?

We are required to build with the system headers, not local headers. It would be a mess during mastering if projects were using local copies of headers instead of what is installed in the system.
