IOReturn (*USBDeviceOpen)( void *self);

#import "MyObjectController.h"

@implementation MyObjectController

{
}

@end

The Subject line is what I think I need to send a program to a Basic Stamp microcontroller chip on a USB Board of Education circuit board:

Basic Stamp (Mine):

Board Of Education (USB (Mine)):

BUT!, the code above is what has been handed me to access the Interface Builder's Widget when I made the connection with my USBDeviceOpen method that I added to my simplistically named MyObjectController object (I'm a New Bee at programming). So I've got two questions. Am I right in my assumption that the method in my subject will be a good start at getting me access to send files and run programs on a microcontroller chip (specifically the one noted above), and two, does anyone know if I can change the IBAction code to fit with the method so that it meshes (because it seems to need a different format from what I first thought when I just typed in "USBDeviceOpen" and tapped the add button on the Interface Builder controls, because I didn't notice the:

IOReturn (*USBDeviceOpen)(void *self);

I only saw "USBDeviceOpen" at the top of the documentation, and started reading what it did, and what it returned.
