HID Force Feedback and Logitech RumblePad2

Dear All,

My first post didn't invite lot's of feedback, but I've worked a more on the project and found some stuff out. Still have of loose ends, maybe you can share some thoughts on the following.

I use a LogiTech RumblePad2 (cordless and with cord) (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2225,CONTENTID=9069). From the LogiTech forum I learned that these devices are supported through the native HID manager. Also a previous post on this list suggests support for my RumblePad: http://lists.apple.com/archives/usb/2003/Mar/msg00008.html.

All games listed at: http://www.immersion.com/gaming/game_applications/mac/ support input through that game controller but the force feedback doesn't work.
From:
Tried BugDom2 Demo - no force feedback
Tried Nascar 2003 Demo - no force feedback
Tried F1 Championship Demo - no force feedback (couldn't install the force feedback patch listed at the above site).

The Apple developer sample code site (http://developer.apple.com/samplecode/Games/idxHumanInterfaceDeviceForceFeedback-date.html) lists several projects with Force Feedback but none of the projects actually have calls into the Force Feedback framework.

There is a preliminary Force Feedback SDK but it seems to need some work to make it work with the standard installed (post MacOSX 10.2.3) force feedback framework. http://homepage.mac.com/geowar1/FileSharing1.html (look in smaple code and download the "FF SDK.sit")

Trying to work on the HID Explorer sample code to access the force feedback capabilities of the RumblePad2 didn't work and doing some straight from the docs project also didn't work because of poor documentation of the Force Feedback API.

Two questions:

Are the RumblePad 2 Force Feedback capabilities accessible on MacsOSX?

If not which game controller actually works (in any of the above scenarios)?

Kind regards,
