Re: USB to 8 pin round DIN serial adapter

Thx for the quick responses guys. That helps a bit to understand why the keySpan does not show up the same way.
I finally found this info that looks very hopeful and I will delve into it:

Serial Printing for Mac OS X

Thx,

Specifically, Apple's old serial port printers don't have 1284-Device ID strings, so there's no way to make those USB compliant.

I have a USB-Parallel converter which I am using to go to a LaserJet IIIp and it works fine. I downloaded the GIMP drivers and followed instructions to add it. When I go to Print Center I can see the parallel converter controller and am able to add the printer driver in relation to it.

After selecting Advance in the Add Printer menu, I never wee the KeySpan in the device pop-up, like I do with the USB - Parallel converter. When clicking on More Printers, I can see the StyleWriter 4100 driver in the list of printer but the Add button always remains greyed out. Nothing seems to work.
