[INVITE] Universal Binary KEXT Workshop at Apple

Everyone,

We're hosting a workshop specifically targeted at the KEXT developer who
needs to get their KEXT working on an Intel based Mac. This workshop will
run from March 6th to the 8th, and focus primarily on hardware developers (
ExpressCard, FireWire, USB, etc.). If you're interested, please see the
invite below (you'll need to email <email@hidden> to RSVP).

If we have sufficient demand for it, we'll also have a shorter workshop for
NKEs & File System Extensions, which will be March 9th & 10th. Let me know
if you're interested in attending this workshop instead or as well.

The invite to the Universal Binary KEXT Workshop follows below. Hope to see
you there!

Best regards,

Craig

Dear KEXT Developer,

You are invited to a special hands-on Universal Binary development workshop
designed specifically for KEXT developers. The workshop will run from March
6th to the 8th, and occur in Cupertino, California.

This will be a unique opportunity to work on building a Universal Binary of
your kernel extensions with direct assistance from USB engineers, FireWire
engineers, I/O Kit engineers, Network driver engineers, Developer Technical
Support engineers, and Evangelists who'll sit at your side and provide
one-on-one technical assistance when needed.

This ADC invitation-only workshop is designed to help you jump start your
Universal Binary development so your drivers will run on both Intel-based
and PowerPC-based Macintosh computers. The workshop has been specifically
designed with the special needs of the kernel extension developer in mind.

This three-day workshop begins with an in-depth technical session, which
will provide detailed information about creating a Universal Binary KEXT,
Debugging Universal Binary Kernel extensions, and pertinent development
tools usage strategies. After the technical session, and on days two &
three, you¹ll work on adapting your drivers to run on Intel, and you'll have
hands-on instant access to Apple engineers to assist you with specific
technical issues you may be facing.

We'll cover everything you need to know about Universal Binaries, including:

- understanding basic endian concepts
- which APIs to use for swapping data
- the latest Xcode features
- build settings for your Xcode projects
- constructing a Mach-O Universal Binary
- compiling with GCC 4.0
- And more!

Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to dramatically accelerate your
universal binary development and ensure that your application is ready for
Apple¹s new Intel-based Macs.
