I would be very suspicious of any USB2.0 hub which seems to be bus powered. A lot of them lie to the host and claim to have a power supply, when they don't. This totally destroys and concept of power management, and can cause all sorts of flaky behaviour.


If you can plug a high powered device (such as an iPod) into such a hub and it successfully enumerates and operates, then the hub is lying to the host. Such hubs are only fit to be debugged with a very big hammer.
