Re: codeless kext for the dummies...

Hi
It does not show up in the list, dont know why
and you may have to restart OSX to get it to work
but also  I found I had to install the IO debug kit to get it to work reliably

http://developer.apple.com/hardwaredrivers/download/usbdebug.html
(make sure you download the correct one)
otherwise it was hit and miss if it worked at all
Brian

Thanks a lot.

It doesn't seem to work in my case.
Can you help me in the troubleshooting ?

1- I just need to change the three values ? for the decimal-coded value ?
looking in the 'details' of the  'OIregistry' pane of 'USB prober' :
bcdDevice   256 (0x100)
idProduct   50944 (0xc700)
idVendor   3266 (0xcc2), in my case

2- is my kext supposed to show in 'kextstat' after the kextload  ?
when the device is connected only ?
( I guess I could also look in the 'kernel Exstensions' pane of 'USB prober'  )

3- How can I check which kext is used for which device, when connected ?

thanks a lot
