However I think you're wasting your time. I believe iPod Audio
sample info goes though the licensed IAP interface.
Dave is correct, the iPod audio interface is authenticated and won't
produce audio unless you have the right licencing in place. You can
find out more about this program at:

I am trying to set sample frequency or get current sample frequency
of an iPod on USB. It should be Audio 1.0 compliant.
I can do it on a USB audio 1.0 headset, but similar command is
failing for iPod.
Does anybody have correct bytes to be set to get cur?
USB packet: A2 81 00 01 81 00 08 00
I use Thesycon tool to send simple commands.
Set configuration, set interface works.
Having said that, all the commands should work, just you never get
any audio data. But it seems we just don't implement GET_ requests,
which would be against the audio spec*, if we were trying to be
compliant. No one's complained before, there are iAP requests which
duplicate this functionality.
*Sec 5.2 of the audio spec: "if a certain Set request is supported, the
associated Get request must also be supported."
