Associating Quartz Event with USB device

I suspect that you don't even need to fiddle with USB drivers, but rather implement a system-wide event modifier via the Quartz Event Services.

This answer reminded me of a question I've been mulling for a while. Is there an easy way to associate a Quartz Event with the corresponding USB device?

I've written a Keyclick program that provides adjustable audio feedback for keyboard and mouse input using a Quartz Event Tap. Suppose I want to play a different sound depending which keyboard an event comes from (laptop built-in vs external USB)?

I haven't found anything in the Quartz Event documentation that associates a device with each event, but I could easily have missed something.

Thanks!
