Re: JavaScript Calling a Java Function Doesn't Work in Safari

JavaScript to Applet does not work in Safari based on previous comments others have made. Your best bet would be to do things server side using whatever language you like. I'd recommend using java to write servlets. You can use PHP as previously posted, or to make things simple write a cgi program in C. Then you won't have to learn a new language at all. If its a small site it won't matter. There are several free CGI libraries for C and C++ out there. I can send you a CGI message board i wrote in C for a programming class if you like.

If you must use client side stuff for some reason, then you will need to put all the logic in an applet and not use javascript. Another problem is the changes microsoft is making to IE. I'd research that before you proceed. Many commercial solutions in the past implemented an active x control for IE and a java applet for everybody else.
