Safari/Javascript Expressions

Hi,

I was wondering if Safari supports the following

<HTML>
<HEAD>
</HEAD>
<BODY>
<script>
var wdt = 20;
</script>
<HR wdt = "&{wdt};"></HR>
</BODY>
</HTML>

I tried in my Safari installation and it did not work. Is there some workaround to this problem ? I have a JSP that generates applet tags and giving width="100%" fails to load the applet. Hence I need some way to generate the height and widht based on client browser dimensions.

Any help will be appreciated.
