Re: Safari (WebKit) color display doesn't match

Photoshop offers the ability to color manage (or not) images.
When opening an image in Photoshop you can choose (according to the preferences) to discard any embedded color profiles.

You're right, Ian: I'm using PNGs and the problem doesn't occur with GIFs.
But, honestly, I wouldn't want to miss the superior qualities of PNGs. As a matter of fact, rarely use GIFs anymore at all.
It seems to me that if I found a way to remove the color profile information from the PNGs, I should be able to have my cake and eat it.
Unfortunately, GraphicConverter doesn't seem to offer this functionality and Fireworks doesn't seem to offer a way to prevent it from embedding the profiles in the first place…
…Suggestions anyone?

What type of image files are you using? I have had issues with .png files matching in various browsers because they can include color profile information which may or may not be read by a browser. For matching background colors, .gif is still your best bet. (Unless that is what you are already using, but I have never had a problem with it...)
