Is there a version that has mod_ssl "bundled" I have already looked
through the apache site.
Yes. I'm not sure which versions have mod_ssl installed, but the
standard install that comes with OSX (which you presumably still
have) has had mod_ssl installed and disabled for a while now
(always?). There are instructions here for enabling mod_ssl on a
standard OSX Apache install:
